to be quite honest … psychologically the Iraqi army was destroyed before the commence of Desert storm operation beside the elite leaders were executed for their opinion against the invasion of Kuwait … and most pilots were not ready to get into other war after a bloody long war with Iran and now at that time facing an enormous tech. US army .. which reflect how stupid Saddam was when he decided to invade Kuwait and tried to match up with US …
They took “Bloodiest Day” Dogfights Episode off youtube?!?!? That was the best one… ;-(

@eLpeach Classic case of nobody willing to tell the emperor that he isn’t wearing any clothes. The Saudi and Emirati air forces are the same way. It may just be a cultural thing, i suppose.
@neerajsoman If thats really the case, man what a huge mistake. I would have thought the dictator to be smarter then this unless his generals where too afraid to tell him what mistake he was doing for fear of being killed

Sucks that we have almost no use for all these fighters in iraq and afghanistan because what is the point of having planes to dog fight against an army that has no planes, and that really isn’t an army.

Meh, it makes for good TV. In the last part they called the Iraqi pilots were “well trained” yet the man lost his guts and crashed and burned when some one got a lock on him. Unlike the Americans who seemed to take being engaged fine.
But this is TV, remember that.
Lol…the US was fighting against a force that could not keep people flying for its life. The Indian Air Force tried to train the Iraqi Air Force–they gave up, because the pilots were not chosen for their ability. They were chosen for their family ties with the regime.
how come they don’t do any more of these air combat?
for example f-14s against Libyan hostile migs in the late 80’s or about the mid 90’s when kosvo was out of control stuff like that.
